Lead Childcare Worker

Date: 7/30/19 

Supervisor: ESL Site Coordinator 
Status: Part Time, 5.5 hours a week
Role: To provide physical care and safety for children and ensure childcare classroom is properly staffed with volunteers and staff.

JOB DUTIES:

Childcare

  • Set up and clean up all materials using appropriate storage

  • Provide physical care for children

  • Create an environment that is welcoming, safe, nurturing, and friendly

  • Plan and engage the children in activities that are age appropriate and funStaffing

  • Manage and welcome volunteers and childcare staff in the childcare classroom

  • Provide direction and specific tasks for volunteers and staff

  • Ensure classroom is properly staffed with volunteers by coordinating a

    replacement for an absent volunteer and communicating needs to ESL Site Coordinator

    Qualifications:

  • Must pass a background check conducted by City of Light Anglican Church

  • Administrative experience preferred

  • Proficient in English, conversationally bilingual in Spanish is preferred

  • Experience or interest in working with immigrant and refugee children

    Perform other job duties as requested by ESL Site Coordinator
