Fully Planted Celebration

  •   December 14, 2018

In January, we are celebrating the close of a significant chapter in our church planting story as we become a self-sustaining church!

Our sending church, Church of the Resurrection, has supported us by providing organizational oversight and accountability, administrative help, and for the first year, financial support. Additionally, dozens of other churches and households have supported through prayer and giving. These crucial partnerships were toward the goal of City of Light becoming self-sustaining, not only able to handle those responsibilities on our own but one day providing the same support for churches that we send out.

After 3 years, we are ready to take that exciting step! At the beginning of 2019, City of Light is will be sent out by our mother church as a fully planted, self-sustaining church. We will joyfully continue to have a close relationship with Church of the Resurrection as our cathedral and accountability to our Bishop as part of the Anglican Diocese of the Upper Midwest.

We are excited to celebrate our church planting journey, looking back at what God has done and looking forward to what he has for us in our next chapter.
