Pentecost Picnic

  •  Sunday June 09, 2019

Save the date for Sunday, June 9 as we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost with an outdoor picnic following the service. On the day of Pentecost in Acts 2, the Holy Spirit comes down from heaven as a dove and flame to fill the church. We'll celebrate by wearing red, taking an all-church photo of everyone there, a picnic, a soccer game, and more!

Picnic Details

We'd ask that you bring a plate with enough sandwiches for your household plus some to share. We'll provide chips, drinks, and popsicles. Don't forget to bring a picnic blanket or something to sit on—weather permitting, we'll eat outside.

  • Wear red for Pentecost—The liturgical color red symbolizes the fire of the Holy Spirit that descended on the Apostles on Pentecost. On this Sunday we celebrate with red banners, red robes, and all the congregation is invited to wear red as well!
