Prayer & Communion | Oración y Comunión

  •   Sunday August 02, 2020 from 12:00 am - Sunday September 27, 2020 12:00 am

You are invited to join us for Outdoor Prayer and Communion in August and into September. We’ve already gathered a few times and it has been a joy to see and connect with our brothers and sisters, and meet some new church family members as well. You are invited to join us, and bring a friend. We are gathering outdoors and wearing masks when moving around. While we will maintain a minimum of six feet of social distance, the space permits much more if needed.

So bring a picnic blanket, sunscreen, a friend and please join us for Outdoor Prayer and Communion every Sunday 12-12:30pm at McCullough Park (150 W. Illinois Ave.)

12pm, McCullough Park, 150 W. Illinois Ave.

Please arrive at 12pm. Please wear masks while entering, moving about, and leaving.

We will practice social distancing throughout the gathering, refraining from physical contact and maintaining at least 6 ft of distance from anyone not in your household. (See our values for caring for one another and our community below.)

Welcome team members will show you where to sit socially distant by household (or with single people quarantining together). Once you are seated, you may remove your mask if desired.

Please bring lawn chairs, a blanket, an umbrella, and sunscreen as needed. Feel free to pack a lunch for after the service.

At around 12:15pm, we will pray a 15 minute communion liturgy. We will follow care protocols for communion; sanitizing hands, not physically touching the communion elements the congregation will receive, and distributing communion in just the bread. A communion minister wearing a mask will bring communion to where each household is sitting.

After the service you may leave immediately or stay to visit while continuing to practice social distancing.

If you have been sick or exposed to someone who has been sick, please refrain from attending and contact eduardo@cityoflightanglican.org if you need anything or would like to receive communion.

In case of rain, we will make an announcement during the livestream and instead do drive-up communion between 1-3pm at 209 N View as we have previously.
